Your time has finally come. Ten days of introspection, fire and an authentic men's sharing circle — no masks, no pretending, no bullshit.
„You're not going on holiday. You're going for yourself."
Shamanic journey · Vision Quest · Offerings to the fire · Men's circle
It's a space with no calendar, no roles and no excuses — with a circle of men, wild nature, and people who don't know you as the guy who "has it all together".
On Zanzibar we work with Moayana Liora Zanzibar, our accommodation and local partner. They provide the base for the stay and support the local part of the programme and the excursions.
So you get everything you'd expect from a good stay on Zanzibar — accommodation, food, the ocean, excursions and local support. To that we add a small group of men, men's circles, a Vision Quest, ritual work, facilitation and the space to genuinely stop.
The sea, the excursions and the adventure all stay. On top of that you get room to really stop.
A small group where trust, brotherhood, honesty, sharing and humour can actually grow.
24 hours on a remote island. Silence, solitude, writing, fire and a clear intention.
Spice farm, Stone Town, quad bikes, a boat, a fishing trip, the Swahili Cave and local culture.
Men's circle, drum work, offerings to the fire, a commitment, and a return home with a clear direction.
To a quality stay we add a facilitated process, men's work and real personal depth.
Arrival, circle, spice farm, Stone Town and quad bikes. First we meet the island — and each other.
Drum work, the crossing to a remote island, a night outdoors, solitude, silence and fire.
Fishing trip, offerings to the fire, the Swahili Cave, brotherhood, and one concrete step you take home.
Transfer to the accommodation, settling into the place. Opening circle and agreeing on the ground rules — respect, confidentiality, honesty.
A spice farm — see where the finest flavours of Africa come from. A quieter, slower day.
The island's historic centre — narrow alleys, local markets, Freddie Mercury's house, the former slave market. Morning free.
Riding quads across the island — adrenaline and speed before the programme slows down and deepens.
Drum work in the Lakota tradition, looking for allies for the new chapter. A meeting with Maasai culture and tradition.
Crossing by boat to a remote island and staying the night. The Vision Quest — time alone with a clear intention, silence, listening. A fire burns all night at the central place, and anyone can come back to it at any time and talk about anything.
Morning return from the island and a fishing trip. The fire offering ritual — giving to the flames everything that no longer serves you.
An easier day — swimming in a crystal-clear cave (the Swahili Cave), nature, time simply spent together. No big theme, just brotherhood.
A circle at sunrise, a commitment spoken out loud and one concrete step — not just an intention.
The journey home. But you're not the same man — you're carrying your direction, your strength, your life.
The shamanic journey, the drum work and the men's circle come from the Lakota tradition and from respect for local African culture — not as a tourist label, but as a real practice we live.
Zanzibar is for men who feel they're running on reserve — even if nobody can tell from the outside. The career works, the family works, and yet inside it's getting quieter in a way that hurts.
On the island we use the established retreat location at Moayana Liora Zanzibar, which is part of what we offer and also supports the excursions and local logistics. Have a look at the place, the rooms and their regular offer at zan-zibar.cz.
No. Most men arrive for the first time. What matters more than experience is a willingness to be honest and to respect the group's space.
I spent most of my professional life in IT, machine learning and big data. Alongside that I gradually worked my way through men's work, Vision Quests, rites of passage, sweat lodges and bodywork.
Burnout wasn't a theoretical topic for me. It was one of the moments when I had to ask myself where I was actually running to. Today I create a space where men can stop for a while, step out of their roles and hear themselves again.
